August 31st is International Overdose Awareness Day

Begun as an initiative in 2001 by Sally J. Finn of the Salvation Army in St. Kilda, Melbourne, Australia, International Overdose Awareness Day is a not-for-profit movement across the world to raise awareness and commemorate those who have been lost to drug overdose.

Events across Ontario are being held in the following cities: Cambridge, Chatham, Cobourg, Fort Erie, Guelph, Hamilton, Kitchener, Lindsay, North Bay, Oakville, Orangeville, Ottawa, Owen Sound, Sarnia, Sault Ste. Marie, St. Catharines, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Toronto, and Windsor.
